UN Global Compact
 

UN Global Compact

In 2008, Syngenta became a member of the UN Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate citizenship initiative. We are committed to aligning our operations with the Compact’s ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. Through the Compact, Syngenta engages in dialogue with UN agencies, labor groups and civil society.


Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI)
 

Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

Syngenta has been selected as a Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) component. Syngenta was included in 2006 and continues its membership on a global (DJSI World) and regional (DJSI STOXX) level. Launched in 1999, the DJSI are the first global indices tracking the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide. Gaining a position in the DJSI is a significant achievement. It is based on a thorough assessment of corporate economic, environmental and social performance.

FTSE4Good Index

Syngenta meets the Corporate Responsibility criteria for inclusion in the FTSE4Good Index. Syngenta was included in 2005 and continues its membership of the FTSE4Good Index Series.

Storebrand SRI

Syngenta has earned "best in class" status for its leading environmental and social performance and therefore qualifies for investment in Storebrand's SRI mandates. Storebrand is a leading Scandinavian financial services company engaged in pensions, life and health insurance, asset management and banking activities. The company has a strong commitment to corporate responsibility, and it is considered to be a leading player within Socially Responsible Investment (SRI).

The Sustainability Yearbook 2009

"The Sustainability Yearbook 2009" is one of the world's most insightful publications on corporate sustainability and the related challenges and opportunities for companies. Each year the 2500 largest companies in the world (as reflected in the Dow Jones Wilshire Global Index) are invited to participate in SAM's Corporate Sustainability Assessment. Only the top-scoring 15% from the 57 sectors assessed are included in the Sustainability Yearbook.
